AIM

The aim of the event was to discuss about the role of universities as active agents of inclusiveness at the local, national and international level and to present initiatives.

The event was open to everyone with an interest in determining a shift in universities’ governance and strategic planning regarding equity, diversity and inclusion in relation to migration, and the integration of refugees into higher education.

10:00 Presentation of the event by the Rector of the University of Barcelona
10:30 Presentation of the UNI(di)VERSITY project by Cati Jerez, Coordinator of the UB Support Programme for Refugees and People from Conflict Areas.
11:00 Presentation of the Atlas of Inclusion: Higher Education diversity strategies for migrant and refugee inclusion. By Henriette Stoeber, co-author of the report and policy officer, EUA. 
11:45 – 13:00 Inclusion and diversity strategies in organisations. Working session to discuss the key elements in introducing and managing diversity in organisations, specifically in the areas of access and active participation of migrants and regugees in different organisational settings. 
Lunch break.
16:00 – 17:30 Presentation of experiences in relation to the incorporation of refugees in the University. University access protocols: doubts, challenges and answers. Speakers: Delia Monfort (Universitat de Barcelona) and Mercedes Garcia-Garcia (Universidad Complutense de Madrid).
